Yous can either harden it or soften it. Harden by rubbing with an ice-cube, and the scrape/ fleck gently with a plastic utensil. Or soften by repeated applications of h2o. Place hot-water soaked kitchen paper over the sugar. Echo many times. With a little luck the sugar may soften and begin to come off. Declining that, merely continual gentle cleaning may erode it.

I have a smooth top stove as well and really love it; I have had many spills but never sugar.
It would seem that some of the ways to clean off burnt food would/might work with your problem.
I mostly use only baking soda, water, vinegar, or Barkeepers friend on my top and i of these usually cleans beautifully. I accept constitute that none of these causes pitting of the pinnacle while other methods may do so (rumors I have heard). Many people swear by a razor blade only I (personally) practice not experience safe using a razor bract.
Most of the time I just have a dish fabric, soak it in h2o and put information technology in the microwave for i-3 minutes.
Remove the cloth with tongs every bit information technology will be very hot. Lay the hot cloth on the food leave it for a few minutes and remove material and wipe away any dissolved food. I accept had to do this 2 or iii times for some spills.
Some other method that has worked for me is to sprinkle a thick layer of baking soda over the spill and and so pour vinegar over the baking soda. Always proceed several clean rags close by to clean up any runs. This volition mostly cause a fizzing so expect until it stops and wipe up the vinegar and chunks of food. Repeat until all food is gone.
I think some people warm the vinegar a trivial but I have never tried that.
I hope someones method helps you and then you tin can continue to enjoy your nice stove.

We bought a used shine peak stove that had several spots on top around the "burners" to the point that I thought the finish had worn off. I started dripping peroxide on the marks, sprinkled baking soda on that, then lemon essential oil. Let information technology set (several hours). Then misted with a vinegar spray and let sit again.
Then worked the marks with a nylon scrubbie in small round motions. It all hasn't come up up all the same, but more and more comes off each fourth dimension I do it.
I don't know exactly what composes these marks, but I practise hope this 'recipe' helps yous out!

This worked for me. Spray oven cleaner on the spots. Cover the spots with pot tops to avoid any fumes. I use glass tops and then I tin see when the burner turns reddish. Light each burner until information technology turns reddish, leave burner on for only five seconds. Permit it cool downward, remove the pot covers and wipe the residue abroad. This works the aforementioned as if you used it inside the over. I've used it with the heat only it may likewise piece of work without heating the burners. Best of luck.

Saccharide, even burnt sugar comes off fairly easy after it has soaked a bit. A magic eraser might be worth a try too and would non scuff the range top.

When I could non get the "cooking rings" off my stovetop with the recommended stuff, I pulled this out to effort. WOW--it looked like new afterwards I finished. Information technology'due south non-toxic also.
